How does the Edge Connector security key work?

The platform generates a rotating HMAC key that is valid for a specific time window. Your local agent verifies this key for every incoming request, ensuring that only you (via your authenticated browser session) can trigger commands.

Is my password sent to the NetAIForge cloud?

If you use the local Edge Connector, your SSH credentials are processed by the agent running on your machine. The cloud backend only acts as a coordinator for the UI.

What platforms does the agent support?

The agent is written in Python and supports all major operating systems. We provide a .bat script for Windows and .sh scripts for Linux/macOS users.

What is 'Session Shift'?

Session Shift is a feature where our terminal monitors your CLI commands. If it sees you connecting to a new IP via SSH or a jump server command, it automatically updates the platform's understanding of your current location.

Do I need to keep the terminal tab open?

For the Edge Connector to function, the local agent must be running. The terminal tab provides the UI, but the session state is managed by the agent.

Can I use the terminal without the agent?

Yes, you can use our Cloud Proxy if your routers are reachable from the public internet. However, for internal management networks, the Edge Connector is required.
